Product review - L'oreal Skin Genesis Night Cream

Claims and product details (from their official site):

Creates an improved environment to care for new skin cells. After seven years of research, L'OrĂ©al introduces its latest innovation for younger-looking skin. The formula combines patented Pro-Xylane ® with Hyaluronic Acid.

At night, the skin is less exposed to daily aggressors and actively recovers and recuperates.Derma Genesis Intensive Night cream helps to nurture skin with moisture during this time. When you wake up your skin feels revitalised, tautened and appears plumped-up. Your skin looks visibly younger.

A unique lightweight night treatment that works deep within skin's surface layers to accelerate the strengthening process while you sleep. Skin wakes up smoother, better hydrated and fully recharged.

My experience with this cream:

Let me start off my saying when I pumped out (it comes in a pump) the cream, I found it stinky. Like this old Tecnokol Rapid glue that I used in school when I was a kid. Terrible. And this cream has just exactly the same smell.

So before I checked the ingredients I put it on my skin to see how it works and how it feels. The color is blue. It's not greasy, it goes on smoothly. It was quickly absorbed. But when I was suffering from eczema (because sometimes I can't say no some dairy product and a home made cheese cake with sugar) this cream burned my skin.

I didn't really see any difference on my skin after using it, but I wasn't really surprised. I knew exactly what to expect. Why? Because of the ingredients:

WaterCyclohexasiloxane, Cyclopentasiloxane, Glycerin, Alcohol Denat., Petrolatum, Cetyl PEG/PPG 10/1 Dimethicone, Silica, Hydroxyethylpiperazine Ethane Sulfonic Acid, Algae Extract, Hydroxypropyl tetrahydropyrantriol, Tocopherol, Silica Dimethyl Silylate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Disodium EDTA, CI 17200 (Red 33), Parfum /Fragrance, Phenoxyethanol

My opinion:

Hydroxypropyl tetrahydropyrantriol could be effective if it weren't almost at the end of the list. But I don't have too much information about this ingredient.

Then it contains algae extract, but I don't know which type: Blue Green or Seaweed? It doesn't really matter actually, but I would like to know. Unfortunately it's also close to the end of the list, so barely has any effect.

And the rest? Synthetic and some of them harmful.

This cream wasn't effective (if we talk about real, skin stimulative benefits) for me, because I don't think so it can't be effective. It contains ingredients with actual benefits in a very low concentration. We need ingredients that really do something with the skin, helps the skin, moisturize it.
