Blog Disclaimer

To keep my reviews free of conflicts of interest, my personal policies for reviews are these:

This is a personal blog. The opinions expressed here represent my own. All information provided on this site is for informational purposes only. Bebeautysmart.com makes no representations as to accuracy, completeness, currentness, suitability, or validity of any information on this site and will not be liable for any errors in this information. All information is provided on an as-is basis.

When I make a product review, mostly I analyze and review the ingredients in the product and my opinion based on that. I try to give accurate, scientifically-based information about the ingredients, but please use your discretion before taking any decisions based on the information in this blog. I will not compensate you in any way whatsoever if you ever happen to suffer an inconvenience, damage because of/while making use of information in this blog.

I am not affiliated with any company mentioned in my blog and I purchased the product myself for personal use unless otherwise noted. My opinion is completely honest and based on my own experience.

I am always interested in reviewing natural beauty products and am open to advertising requests from companies with similar ethics and standards, but if they want me to post a review, they also take the risk that it could be negative opinion as well. Acceptance of a free sample does not guarantee a positive review! I have the right and the repsonsibilty to my readers.

Please understand that I will not recieve products that contain ingredients that I believe are harmful*. Even if others say about a certain ingredient that is not bad, if I think it is, I am not going to review the product, or if I do, I will make my doubts clear about that ingredient.

I have the right to review products that others think are safe and I feel they are not.

If you gave me false information about your product -means I find it false for any reason- and I realize it after when I got it, you understand that I will mention this in my blog and you can not complaine about it later.

Defamation does not apply when the statements are my own opinion. If I'm ranting about someone (or something, or a company) it’s just MY opinion.

I check, double-check, and possibly triple-check any sources I rely on for my information.

"Others may not like what I have to say about them or their product, but the truth of the matter is that we’re all allowed our opinion and the ability to tell the truth." (Sara Hawkins lawyer)

According to the Canadian Bar Association:

  • We all are free to comment – even harshly – about issues of public interest, as long as our comments are honest statements of opinion, based on fact.
  • If someone calls you a lazy slob, you might be hurt, but you probably don't have a good reason to sue.
  • A statement may hurt your reputation, but if it is true, anyone who says it has a valid defence
  • The court said that journalists should be able to report statements and allegations – even if they are not true – if there’s a public interest in distributing the information to a wide audience. This defense, which looks at the whole context of a situation, can apply if: the news was urgent, serious, and of public importance, and the journalist used reliable sources, and tried to get and report the other side of the story. (The court defined “journalist” widely to include bloggers and anyone else “publishing material of public interest in any medium.”)
