There are altough some nations where people live a very long life. And not just long, but healthy. Get to know these people's secret!
Many Okinawans reach the age of 110 years old. They have lower risk of heart attack and stroke, cancer, osteoporosis and Alzheimer. They don't just live long, but they even stay healthy. The secret? Healthy lifestyle. The traditional diet of Okinawa is vegetables, fruit, fish, soy, seaweed, green tea and rice. They don't eat too much meat or dairy products, they don't smoke or drink alcohol and their lives low in stress. The other most important thing is the physical activity: biking, walking several kilometers daily, practicing karate, kendo, dance and gardening. They live in the North of Pakistan. The Hunza Valley is a high altitude, fertile valley that supports agriculture and provides isolation from the rest of the world. There is no pasture, thus lifestock is impossible. Because of that they barely eat meat, but they eat lots of fruits, such as apricot, peaches, pears, blackberries, figs and melons. They don't even cook the vegetables. They also eat a lot of grains -- wheat, barley, and millet. In the winter they eat cooked beans, corn, root vegetables and squash as well as and sprouts. They exercise daily (the mountains are pretty rough) and have a positive attitude. The elderly population is fit, full of vitality and virtually free from disease. Vilcabamba is located less than 50 miles from the Peruvian border. They don't suffer from heart disease, cancer or diabetes. Their first secret is the Vilcabamba water which is the purest and healthiest in the whole world. And they drink a lot every day. And the second secret is their diet: vegetables from their own garden, fruits right off the trees, whole grains, seeds and nuts. They don't eat animal products. They hike up the slopes to harvest foods, cleaning and cultivating vegetables and picking fruits. Abkhasia is situated on the Eastern coast of the Black sea, bordering Russia in the North and North Caucasus along the Caucasus Mountains Range and Georgia in the East. Abkhazia is rich in fresh water. Abkhasia’s people ate 90% plant foods, low amounts of salt, zero sugar or processed food. They primarily eat fresh fruits and vegetables (picked fresh and eaten near to immediately) as well as nuts and some whole grains. The Abkhasia consume very few animal products, which include a fermented beverage called matzoni, made from cow, goat or sheep’s milk, and more rarely, fresh meat, with the fat removed. As mountain-dwellers, the Abkhasia spend every day going up and down the mountain, which keeps them fit no matter what their age. The Abkhasia look forward to growing old, in sharp contrast with Western societies.
