Product review- Eye Tuck from Skin Doctors

The first time when I heard about Eye Tuck it was in March, 2012 on a forum for men. Andrew Petrou (Skin Doctors) highly recommended this eye cream there to everyone who has wrinkles or fine lines, so I decided to dig a bit deeper in this product.

It's a very expensive eye cream, so you may think it should work. Well, not quite. As I mentioned in my other post, price generally has nothing to do whatsoever with effectiveness.

But back to the subject. I was so excited about this eye cream, because puffy eyes and dark circles are a common problem among men and women.

As a professional esthetician I always need to be up-to-date about these things and new treatments.

Eye care specialist Andrew Petrou looks like someone who knows a lot about skin care.

This is why I don't understand why he finds this product effective? I started to have a tickling feeling that it's again just about money and there is nothing behind the big words.

No matter what anyone says about any product, ingredients talk. They tell you everything what you want to know about them.

This product is very synthetic. Not a good start.

Please keep it mind that we are talking about an eye gel.

Ingredients:

Water, Glyceryl Stearate SE, Isopropyl Myristate, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Apricot kernel oil, Polysorbate 60, Propylene Glycol, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Ethylparaben, Butylparaben, Propylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Cetyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate SE, PEG 100 Stearate, Triethanolamine (TEA), Sorbitan Stearate, Carbomer, Disodium EDTA

My opinon:

If you hear something like this:"The ingredients are not harmful, because they are in a low concentration", please don't believe it. I believe that those low concentrate ingredients will added through the years and accumulate in the body which means it will be harmful at the end. Top of that you use at least 5-6 different other products, which also contain harmful ingredients, mostly the same ones.

My question is:

What makes this eye cream effective? I really want to know.

I found only 1 good ingredient in it, the Acetyl tetrapeptide-5, but I can suggest you better ones, like acetyl hexapeptide-3 (argireline) and palmitoyl pentapeptide-4.

The Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea Butter) is almost the last ingredient, so it's kinda ineffective, but the checmicals kill its benefits anyways.

This product contains synthetic and harmful ingredients. How many preservatives are in it? I found a lot.

So my question is again: beside that this cream is mostly synthetic and contains carcinogenic ingredients (parabens)- what makes this eye cream effective? And why is it so expensive when the ingredients are so cheap in it?

I lost my faith in this product. I wouldn't recommend this eye cream to anyone.

The forum owner forwarded my comment to Andrew Petrou, but he never answered for my questions.
