My personal favorite Certified Organic brands Part II.

Here is my second part of my personal favorite certified organic brands in skin care. As I was doing the first part I just realized how many "so-called" organic and natural companies are out there. My list was extremely long in the beginning, but after I read every single ingredient list of every single real and not real organic companies, only this much left. But quantity over quality, right? There are also so many good companies that I can't post, because they don't ship worldwide, or although their ingredients are natural, their process (how they make their products) isn't clear in front of me (eg. they use direct heat and kill the benefits of the natural ingredients). I hope you will like the second part too!

Purepotions

About the company: "Natalie Balmond, founder of purepotions, formulated the first of her products when her daughter Lula was suffering from chronic dry skin. None of the treatments she had tried, whether they were conventional GP-prescribed creams or alternative remedies, alleviated the itching and soreness that was causing Lula a great deal of distress.

With much determination and experimentation, Natalie developed a natural salve in her own kitchen, using a combination of herbs and oils which dramatically improved the condition of her daughter's skin. Very soon she was inundated with requests for her ointment from people with similar skin problems. The success of her salve then inspired her to create a range of natural baby and first aid rescue products, equally as effective and also without any harmful chemicals.

We use ingredients as close to their natural state as possible: they have not been highly processed or modified. Our ingredients are organic where possible and are always 100% natural. Our products only contain ingredients which are essential to moisturising and nourishing the skin: nothing unnecessary is added at all. We do not use synthetic colours, fragrances, preservatives, water, petrochemicals, perfumes, or any other synthetic additives. All our products are suitable for babies, children and adults and can be safely applied to any area of the body, including face, hands and scalp."

Estelle & Thild

Estelle & Thild is a Swedish skin care company.

About the company: "When her first daughter was born, Pernilla Rönnberg was disappointed to discover that she simply couldn’t find gentle, organic hair and skin products for children. But the search inspired her to create her own line of ecological lotions, soaps and shampoos, leading to the founding of Estelle & Thild in 2007. Pernilla worked with dermatologists and paediatricians to guarantee that everything she put on the market would meet her own high standards. Both the contents and the production methods soon won ecological certification from Ecocert. The overwhelming demand for Estelle & Thild’s original children’s products quickly led to the launch of a complete skin and body care line for adults.">/p>

Their philosophy: "It’s fair to say that what you put on your skin is almost as important to your health as the food you eat. Ecologically certified products from Estelle & Thild contain natural ingredients of the highest quality. We work with dermatologists and toxicologists to guarantee that everything we put on the market is both effective and gentle. All our products are based on vitamin-rich oils and plant extracts that improve your skin’s health and vitality.

We believe in gentle ingredients with proven positive effects, and we always strive to use simple, pure compounds. We avoid combining too many plant extracts to limit the risk of skin irritation. Estelle & Thild’s gentle products protect the skin’s natural balance, and can be used even by people with extremely sensitive skin."

Their environmentally certified products are based on natural and organically grown raw materials of the finest quality available. Their production facilities are carefully managed to limit pollution, containers are made from biodegradable plastics, and we strive to avoid unnecessary packaging and transport.

Their products belong to the stricter Organic Cosmetic certification. To display the Ecocert Organic logotype, products must meet the following criteria: at least 95% of the plant ingredients must be certified organic, at least 95% of total content must be of natural origin and at least 10% of the product must be comprised of organic ingredients (excluding water).

"We have chosen to certify our products with Ecocert, the largest independent certification body for companies in Europe and the United States."
