Product review - Alverde Facial Toner with clay/argilla

I continue my Alverde series with this amazing facial toner. Sometimes I can't say no to foods which contain sugar (very bad habit, I know) and then I have to pay the price: pimples appear on my forehead. And they are these inflamed pimples. So they hurt too and hard or almost impossible to pop them out.(Traditionally, this zone is regarded as the "sister" to the bladder and digestive system. If you breakout frequently in this area, it might mean that you need to improve your elimination by drinking more water and eating more "whole" foods. Outbreaks on your forehead can be caused also by a toxin build up, usually related to poor digestion.)

So I knew I need something which can actually help to dry them out. Thankfully Alverde has its amazing facial toner with Argilla at DM (Drogerie Markt).

What is Argilla?

Argilla is an Italian word, means "clay". According to Aromantic, clay is a solid, fat and moist earth that can be red, green, brown, grey, pink, yellow or white. Each type has its own properties, which are determined by where it comes from and how deeply it is mined.

I think this clay is actually Rhassoul clay because it has a reddish/brown color. I found a very great information about Rhassoul clay at Mountain rose herbs: "It is a mineral rich clay that blends extremely well with water making its application to the face and skin a smooth and delightful experience. It is very high in trace minerals such as silica, magnesium, iron, calcium, potassium and sodium, making it truly one of the finest treasures for pampering your skin.

Because of the high mineral content, astringent properties, and absorption properties, Rhassoul clay is a wonderful and effective clay for cleansing, detoxification, and for general skin care treatments. In clinical tests, Rhassoul has been shown to be effective on skin elasticity, clogged pores, removes dead skin layers, removed surface oil from skin, improves skin clarity and appearance, and reduces flakiness and dryness of both the scalp and skin. Try using Rhassoul clay in soap recipes, facial masks, body wraps, clay packs, shampoos, and conditioners for a luxurious and decadent experience." (Source: Mountain Rose Herbs)

Description about the Toner

The smell bought me. It contains alcohol as well, so you can smell that too (just a little bit) but it has a very similar smell to Nivea. Almost the same actually. You have to shake it before using. It doesn't really dry the skin but it gives a matte look. Oh and cleans it very well. Just don't use it around the eye area because of the alcohol. When you pop out a pimple and you wipe it with this facial toner, don't be surprised if it burns. That's what it has to do. That's when it actually tightens the pores and prevents inflammatory.

It is a great a product and I highly recommend it to anyone who fights with pimples.
